What's Changing
When you add a signature to a session note, you'll now see a 4th option in the "Signee" dropdown: "Other Signature" — alongside the existing Employee, Guardian, and Supervising Clinician options.
Why This Is Useful to You
Some billing situations require a signature from someone who doesn't fit neatly into the existing categories — for example, a clinician covering a session outside their usual role, or another qualified staff member who needs to attest to the note. Previously, there was no clean way to capture that signature in the system, which could create gaps.
The "Other Signature" option gives you a flexible, compliant way to capture that signature directly in the note — no workarounds, no missing documentation — while still keeping a clear audit trail of who signed, their title, and what they attested to.
Why It Was Added
Several billing scenarios required a signature type that wasn't covered by the existing Employee, Guardian, or Supervising Clinician categories. To close this gap, this feature adds a way to capture a signer's full name and title, plus a fixed attestation that the documentation is clinically accurate — satisfying billing and audit requirements without altering the meaning of the existing signature types.
How to Use It
Go to a session note. Navigate to Schedule → Create Session Note → Add Sign. The Signature modal will open.
Select "Other Signature" from the Signee dropdown. This is the new 4th option, alongside Employee, Guardian, and Supervising Clinician.
Enter the signer's name and title. A single text field labeled "Name and Title" appears — enter both in this one field (e.g., "Jane Smith, BCBA").
Sign in the signature box. The usual signature canvas appears just like it does for other signature types.
Review the attestation before submitting. Below the signature box, the signer will see this exact disclaimer:
"I have reviewed this session note and attest that the services provided were clinically appropriate, accurately documented, and delivered in accordance with the treatment plan."
By signing, the individual is confirming this statement.Submit the note as usual. The Other Signature will now appear anywhere existing signatures are shown — in reports, exports, and the session note PDF — just like Employee, Guardian, or Supervising Clinician signatures.
Good to Know
Available on all session note templates — this isn't limited to a specific note type.
Works for past and future notes — you can add an Other Signature to older notes, not just new ones going forward.
Web only for now — this option is not yet available in the mobile app.
The disclaimer text is fixed — it can't be edited when signing, since it's tied to the compliance/attestation requirement.
