Administrators should distribute this comprehensive manual to their team members responsible for conducting sessions and gathering data. This guide delves into the intricacies of data collection when using the web browser of your database. For optimal compatibility with our system, we strongly advise using Google Chrome as your preferred browser. Please note that using Safari may lead to discrepancies in time recording, potentially resulting in inaccuracies in your raw data timestamps.
Clinical data can also be taken on the mobile app. The instructions are the same with slight differences in design. Please click here to view the guide on how to collect data on the mobile app.
You can either select the client from the client list icon that is always available wherever you go in the system or you can go to the 'Manage Client' section and select the client from the 'Client List'.

Once you select the client from the list, the list will expand and have additional options. You will be selecting the "Collect Data" option.
During your session, you will have access to four distinct tabs, each serving a specific function. These tabs are:
Skill Acquisition
This tab is used to collect data on 'Baseline' and 'In-treatment' programs and targets. You will be able to find DTT (Discrete Trial Training) or TA (Task Analysis) targets based on what has been set up by the BCBA for the client. The steps on how to Collecting data for a session are as follows:
Select the programs you will be working on during the session and the 'Start Session' button will show in blue for you to select to start collecting data.
You will be able to view the list of programs and each program will have a drop down menu of the targets that correspond to that program.
Collecting data for DTT targets VS. TA Targets | |
---|---|
DTT: Will have the SD and Instructions for you to review and the prompt codes available for you to select. Upon your first selection of a prompt code, a trial counter will be displayed. This counter tracks the number of trials you have completed as well as the number of trials that are expected to be taken for the target. You will also have a feature appear to 'Delete Previous Trial'. This feature will let you delete the previous trial if you selected the incorrect prompt code or if you took a data point by mistake. | TA: Will have the option to select a blue page that will open up a window with the SD, instructions and steps for the target. Each step will have a drop down menu of the prompt codes available for you to select. Once you select a prompt codes, please make sure you select to save. If you do not select to 'save' the data point will not be recorded. |
Note: To confirm that your data is being accurately recorded, please utilize the 'Today's DTT Data' or 'Today's TA Data' features, located at the top right of the screen. These sections display each recorded data point, including target name, selected prompt code, date, and time. If you selected an incorrect prompt code or took a data point by mistake, you have the option to delete it within this section.
Behavior Data
In this section, you can collect data on various behaviors using different behavior recording types. As you navigate through the section, you will encounter tabs labeled with the different recording types being utilized. Each behavior has an assigned recording type and is placed under the tab it corresponds to.
Collecting ABC Data: You will have the option to input or select the antecedent, behaviors, consequence and location in this section. You will also have the option to write any additional notes to the ABC data point collected.
Once you select all the corresponding fields when collecting ABC Data, please make sure you select the 'Save' option at the top for the data point to save. There will also be a Today's ABC Data feature next to the save option where you can see the ABC data points collected for the day. Each section will have this option for you to view or delete data points collected.
Note: In each field there will be a plus icon next to the title of the section. This icon is available for you to select if you would like to add an option that is unavailable in that section. Once this option is saved, the option will appear on the list for you to select
Frequency Data: In this section, you will gather data on the frequency of specific behaviors that have been designated for this recording type. To log each occurrence, click on the green plus icon. If you need to retract an entry, use the red minus icon. It's crucial to save each data point by selecting 'Save' before proceeding to a different section.
Duration: You will be able to collect duration data on behaviors that have been assigned to this recording type. You will have the option to select the 'Start' timer for each specific behavior that is being recorded and navigate to different areas in the data collection section while the timer is running. You also have the option to 'Cancel' the timer from running if you accidentally started a timer, as well as the option to 'Stop' the timer once the client stops expressing the behavior. Once you stop the timer, a 'Save' option will appear for you to save the data point. If this is not selected, the data point will not be recorded.
Rate: In this section, you are equipped to monitor the frequency of specific behaviors over a defined time period using a timer. You have the flexibility to record multiple behaviors concurrently while the timer is active. To initiate the session, simply click on the 'Start' button to begin the timer. During this period, you can log each instance of the behavior by pressing the green plus icon. If an error occurs and you need to remove a logged instance, the red minus icon allows for this correction. It's crucial to remember to 'Stop' the timer and 'Save' once you've completed your data collection.
Partial Interval: Under this tab, you will be able to collect data on behaviors that are occurring during an interval and if the interval has been set up by your BCBA or Agency, you will be able to see the interval counting down. Every time an interval ends, there will be a beeping sound to indicate the end of the interval. You will be able to select the behaviors that occurred during the interval by selecting the check box.
Note: When an interval ends and a new one begins the checkboxes will reset since a new interval started. Please make sure to select stop and save once you are done collecting data for your partial interval behaviors.
Momentary Time Sampling: In this last tab, you will be able to collect data on specific behaviors whether or not the behavior is occurring at that instant. You will be given a timer and the timer will beep when the interval starts and ends. The duration of the interval will also be set up by your agency or BCBA. Once the interval ends, you will be presented with the behaviors and select if the behavior is occurring or not during that moment.
Clipboard
This tab serves as a collaborative tool where you can leave notes for other providers. It's a space for sharing observations, insights, or important information that needs to be communicated within the team. You can always select to add notes, edit notes, mark them as reviewed, change their active statuses and delete the notes if needed.
Maintenance
In this last tab, you will be able to collect data on mastered out programs and targets. DTT and TA targets that have been mastered out, will be under this tab.
